Al-Hayat sends GATA''s message throughout the Arab world

GATA has achieved a publicity coup. A major story about
GATA appears in the Friday edition of what may be the
most prestigious Arabic newspaper in the world, Alhayat,
published in London. A few weeks ago Alhayat made news
all around the world for an exclusive interview with
U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.

In the Arab world, being featured in Alhayat is
like being featured in The New York Times in the
West. But our so-called free press in the
Washington/New York axis will not even mention
GATA. We are talking about 43 months' worth of
U.S. press censorship.

Because this is hot off the press this morning, GATA
wants to get this out NOW, so that the GATA Army in
London can pick up copies.

An English translation of the Alhayat report will be sent
to you soon.

My humble opinion is this: Once the sophisticated Arab
world realizes what GATA has uncovered, people there
will buy physical gold with increasing fervor. They will
know what Barton Biggs of Morgan Stanley knows!

Behind the Depressed Price of Gold?

Under this provocative title, Alhayat, the leading
conservative Arabic newspaper, published an interview
with GATA Chairman Bill Murphy in its Issues section
in its international edition of July 19, 2002.

The interview touches on a wide range of topics
revolving around gold, geopolitics, and GATA's views
on the international conspiracy to keep the price of
gold suppressed.

The interview is certain to create waves in the Arab
Middle East, given the influence of Alhayat, which is
Saudi-owned and well-read among decision makers in
that part of the world.

The interview is preceded by a brief summary about a
controversy caused by John Embry, a senior analyst
for Royal Bank of Canada, who wrote a report
supporting GATA's views on the conspiracy to keep the
price of gold down. The summary cites Royal Bank's
disavowal of Embry's report and Murphy's response,
which showed that Embry's report was indeed published
on RB letterhead and distributed to the firm's major
clients.

The interview with Murphy in Alhayat takes up about
half a page.
