Musk signals DOGE will look into gold at Fort Knox

Tech billionaire Elon Musk signaled today that he will be looking into Fort Knox, where the United States has a massive and heavily secured gold reserve.
"Looking for the gold at Fort Knox. ..." Musk wrote on the social platform X.
He also shared a post from Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, on X, in which the senator said he has been denied access to Fort Knox, an Army installation in Kentucky.

Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. is threatening to snag the title of world’s second-largest gold producer from one of its top rivals.
The Canadian mining company aims to churn out 3.3 million to 3.5 million bullion ounces this year, according to full-year earnings posted Thursday. That’s on par with Barrick Gold Corp., which is currently the No. 2 gold miner.

The world's richest man got encouragement Sunday to bring his cost-cutting Department of Government Efficiency into one of the most secure places in the world: Fort Knox.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, called for a review of the vault’s massive gold reserves — worth an estimated $425 billion based on market rates -- in response to the tech mogul’s musings about the stash.
